OUR PROJECTS

Our Water Projects

ORWRDP 2F

Lebalelo is developing a concept study to aid both the public and private sector in the construction of a pipeline from their existing Clapham pump station to Polokwane’s water abstraction facility at Olifantspoort Weir. Crucially, the new pipeline will supply water from the newly constructed De Hoop Dam in the south, to the water stressed city of Polokwane in the north.

ORWRDP 2B & 2B+

Lebalelo is developing a concept study to aid both the public and private sector in the construction of a pipeline from Flag Boshielo Dam to the Northern Limb in Limpopo. The aim of the new pipeline is to provide water to both the mining sector and to communities in the Mogalakwena municipality.

Southern Extension 2

With the recent expansion of mines in the Southern end of the Eastern Limb, discussions are underway with several mining operations as to the feasibility of building a second pipeline alongside the existing Southern Extension to increase capacity.

Operational Planned Maintenance

On an ongoing basis, the Association through its Operations Manager and Planning Team execute key maintenance activities to ensure that the assets of the Association are kept in optimal operating condition.

Special Maintenance Projects

Through the Association’s strategic risk management process or where emergencies occur, special operational maintenance projects are initiated to mitigate risks impacting the Association.

Boreholes

The Association sets funds aside to assist Communities with respect to access to groundwater. This work covers the construction, commissioning, refurbishing and maintaining of boreholes, along with associated pipes and pumps in the area.

Security Upgrades

The Association’s infrastructure is situated in very remote areas. The 4th industrial revolution is providing ways for Lebalelo to manage its infrastructure in smarter ways. Lebalelo is utilising cloud connectivity and advanced early warning telemetry to radically improve its security systems.
